Bobby Dark with Loretta Lynn (1970) Bobby writes: "I was only there [at WINN] about a year. The GM, Tom Moore, brought me in due to my name recognition, Billboard Award, and my time at KBOX in Dallas, one of the country's big Country Music stations, after country sort of took the USA by storm. I was originally brought in when the DJs were working to make the station a union shop. That's a lengthy story. From Louisville, I went to New York, then on to WLS in Chicago for some rock... then back to KBOX and spent 20 more years there." |

Bobby Bare with WINN's Bobby Dark (1970) Bobby Dark writes: "Fun fact.... When Bobby Bare was in town, I spent the day with him at the hotel and best I can recall, he started writing the song, 'Dropkick Me Jesus Through The Goalposts Of Life.' Paul Craft finished it and Bobby had a huge hit with it." |

Former WINN copywriter Barbara Polk writes about this photo: "I just discovered this photo which I thought was lost. It’s yours truly with the Hager Twins from Hee Haw and Sherry Cambron. WINN would send me to our country music concerts and I would take a few pics. I couldn’t always get down front as I didn’t have an official press pass. I was mostly backstage. The four of us went out after the concert where the guys signed the wall of the restaurant where we were. There were lots of other signatures of celebrities. I wish I could remember where we went. I rarely wore my hair like that. I can’t believe I fixed it that way. Ugh!!!" | |||
